Swedish horror film about a 12 year old boy who is befriended by strange girl who moves in next door. Chilly scenes of winter dramatically add to the isolated mood. At times, the extremely restrained and minimal script makes it difficult to empathize with the main characters. Still, the overall story of a lonely boy saved by love, rings true. Occasional bursts of horror are effective because they occur sparingly.
