Scott Pilgrim vs. the World

Action comedy about a passive rocker that must contend with the 7 evil exes of the new girl he is dating.  Plays fast and loose with plausible reality in exchange for utterly original hilarity.  The jokes are relentlessly fanciful, turning traditional movie conventions on their ear, with a playful nod toward comic books and video games.  With rapid-fire editing, displays of surrealism and non-sequitur humor, one can hardly catch their breath before the story takes off on another tangent.    The film is a true visual delight and it’s all a rather dizzying display.  English director Edgar Wright, best known for Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz, tops himself with this imaginative gem.

  1. So glad I watched this! Not only was the movie hilarious, the geeks watching the movie were even more hilarious. They were cheering, grunting and laughing LOUDLY! It was ridiculous, but fun. You gotta see it!

    1. Yeah the fan boys were out in full force to see this. Hopefully the film can break out of that narrow demographic and be a success with the masses. The movie Kick-Ass had similar problems with the general public too.

  2. Edgar Wright is a certified genius madman. Absolutely love his work and this film is just mind boggling. I should do a post this one. Ha!

      1. I was stoked when that was announced, but nothing but tears now. My mind is slowly closing after seeing the generic trailers. We’ll see.
