Timely documentary chronicles the online correspondence between Manhattan photographer, Nev Schulman, and an eight-year-old girl in Michigan who’ve never met. Little Abby asks Nev if she may do a painting of one of his dance photographs that appears in the New York Times. That’s how it starts, but where it goes will completely surprise you. Long-distance relationships, the Internet and specifically Facebook form the basis of this fascinating reality thriller that unfolds brilliantly. The less you know about this film, the better. Let’s just say the story is uncomfortable viewing.

It’s funny how much curiosity can do for a movie. We know so little about this. yet some of us are dying to watch…
Wow, without giving anything away, this movie put a big knot in my stomach.
It really touched me. I want to say more, but I can’t. Like Mark says, ” The less you know about this film, the better”. Highly recommend it!
Based on the trailer, I thought this film was going to be much more sinister than it actually was. I suppose it’s the tenuous story that makes it so affecting. You could easily see it happening & I personally have known people who have had similar things happen to them, though not to this extreme. I don’t know how highly to recommend this, because the more you talk about it, the more likely you’ll ruin it for the next person.
I cannot wait to see this film on friday! I have heard nothing of the storyline and from your review that sounds like that is the best thing for me.
