My Top Films of 2018

On this, the last day of 2018, I reflect back on 365 days of movie watching and pick the 10 films I enjoyed the most (PLUS an additional 10 that basely missed that list). I re-read all of my reviews to jog my memory, but it can be a bit arbitrary when deciding between two films that each got 4 stars and you have to place one above the other.  Needless to say, I enjoyed everything on my “Best of” list very much.

* MY TOP FILMS OF 2018 *

It has been great seeing all of these movies, but it wouldn’t be the same if I didn’t have an audience with whom to share my passion. To all who read my blog, like my posts and keep the conversation going, I am truly grateful.

Thank you!

Wishing you a HAPPY NEW YEAR in 2019!

    Cool list. I loved Eighth Grade ever since I saw it at Sundance. Sorry to Bother You was not for me but can see why you liked it. My list will be quite different but still waiting to see Shoplifters

    • I didn’t care for Ralph Breaks the Internet and I assume that will be quite high on your list. Everything else that you loved, I did too. I simply didn’t adore it enough to put it in my Top 10 or 20. For example, Mary Poppins, Spider-Man and Leave No Trace just barely missed the cut. Definitely worthy choices of a year-end list.

    You had some films you never got reviewed this year (crossreferencing between fb and here) … where would those films fall? Blackkklansman for instance

    • If the movie came out in December or January ’19 then stay tuned I’m still writing the review. I avoided anything I thought looked like a bad movie this year. Even if it didn’t’ make my Top 20, there’s a good chance I still enjoyed the film. BlacKkKlansman got 3 1/2 stars from me which would place it in my Top 40.
